2024-2025 Highlights

The Student Health Center partnered with the College of Nursing & Health Sciences to engage nursing students in flu shot clinics, expanding vaccination outreach while providing valuable, real-world learning experiences.

For the first time, the Student Health Center participated in the Employee & Benefits Fair, promoting pharmacy services and enhancing wellness resources for faculty and staff.

Over 2,000 first aid packets were distributed to students, increasing access to essential health supplies and supporting a safe campus environment.

Looking ahead: 2025-2026 Goals

Expand access to pharmacy services through a pharmacy vending program when the clinic is closed, allowing students, staff, and faculty for convenient access to over-the-counter medications.

Increase student engagement by hosting more health and wellness events within residence halls, promoting preventive care and health education in familiar campus spaces.

Improve communication and outreach by utilizing digital platforms and social media to keep students informed about available health resources, upcoming events, and wellness tips.

Annual Flu Shot Clinic

The Flu Shot Clinic is an annual health initiative designed to provide convenient, on-campus influenza vaccinations to students, faculty, and staff. Partnering with the College of Nursing & Health Sciences, nursing students assist with administering vaccines, gaining valuable hands-on experience while supporting campus health. The clinic promotes disease prevention and increases vaccination rates within the university community by making flu shots accessible and affordable.

Health Screenings

This is a new collaborative event with the College of Nursing & Health Sciences that provides nursing students with valuable hands-on experience. Students will conduct blood pressure checks, body mass index (BMI) assessments, and blood sugar screenings. In addition to screenings, the event offers education on lifestyle modifications—such as healthy eating and regular exercise—to help lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels, maintain a healthy BMI, and reduce the risk of hypertension and type 2 diabetes.
