Career Opportunities & Volunteer Services

The Office of Career Opportunities provides career development and awareness, experiential learning/cooperative education, and professional employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students and alumni.  The Career Opportunities staff collaborates with our employer and community partners to develop the employment potential of our students and graduates, as well as to utilize their innovative, intellectual talents.

2024-2025 Highlights

The number of employers with active job postings skyrocketed from 3,194 to 17,434—a 445% increase from the previous year. This incredible growth has dramatically expanded career options and employer connections for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students.

Career Opportunities & Volunteer Services connected with 245 students at the Engagement and Well-Being Unit Cookout during Fall Explosion, encouraging connection, celebration, and community as they kicked off a new academic year.

Career Opportunities & Volunteer Services hosted 69 career-focused events—from fairs to workshops—engaging 2,868 participants and reaching 1,528 unique students. Each event helped Blazers explore careers, meet employers, and sharpen their professional skills.

In partnership with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Athletics and Enterprise Mobility, the office hosted a Career Readiness Workshop and expanded the Blazer Pantry & Closet to a second location dedicated to student-athletes. Usage jumped from 848 to 1,202, marking a 41.7% increase in support for student-athlete success.

Two new club sports programs were added, offering more opportunities for students to compete, connect, and build team spirit.

Looking ahead: 2025-2026 Goals

The Office of Career Opportunities & Volunteer Services will continue to advance career development and awareness through hands-on learning experiences, cooperative education, and professional employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students—as well as alumni.

In partnership with employers and community partners, the office will boost engagement opportunities by 15%, increasing from a baseline of 62 to 71 total events. These expanded career fairs, workshops, and networking programs will create even more pathways for students to connect, learn, and launch their futures.

The office will strengthen collaborations with student organizations, faculty, and campus departments to foster a truly career-ready campus environment—one where every Blazer has the tools, confidence, and connections to thrive beyond graduation.

Career Fairs & Events

Career Fairs and Career Events serve as critical platforms for connecting students and alumni with leading employers. These initiatives advance career readiness, strengthen professional networks, and expand access to diverse employment opportunities across multiple industries.

Career Fairs and events enabled 1,007 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students to connect directly with 119 employers, resulting in increased access to internships, co-ops, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities.
