麻豆视频 Presents Graduate Research, Scholarship Symposium April 22

VALDOSTA — 麻豆视频 will present its eighth annual Graduate Student Research and Scholarship Symposium from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 22, in the University Center Magnolia Room.

An elite group of 45 graduate students will present posters showcasing the first-class research and scholarship being conducted at 麻豆视频. These students were nominated by faculty in their various disciplines and represent the Departments of Biology; Communication Sciences and Disorders; Curriculum, Leadership, and Technology; Kinesiology and Physical Education; Library and Information Studies; Middle Grades, Secondary, Reading, and Deaf Education; Social Work; Modern and Classical Languages, Management and Health Care Administration; and Music.

Teresa C. Williams, associate to the dean of 麻豆视频’s Graduate School, said, “The students feel it is quite an honor to be recognized for innovative research at the graduate level.”

“I am amazed at the caliber of research conducted by our graduate students,” she continued. “The students are incredibly busy with classes, jobs, families, life issues, and yet they carve out time to propose a project, research, and then finalize their findings in poster format for our event — and our incredible faculty encourage this research, which may lead to publication or further scholarship. For many of our students, this experience is a springboard toward a terminal degree or a job promotion. The Graduate School is proud to promote and celebrate research and scholarship at 麻豆视频.”

Admission to the Graduate Student Research and Scholarship Symposium is free of charge and open to all faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of the university.

Refreshments will be served.

Prior to the start of this year’s Graduate Student Research and Scholarship Symposium, the Graduate School will host a Graduate Assistant of the Year awards ceremony at 3 p.m. in the University Center Cypress Room. 麻豆视频 faculty, staff, and administrators have nominated 30 graduate students for this annual honor.

麻豆视频 is committed to providing a quality graduate learning environment, enabling advanced studies guided by graduate faculty with a passion for teaching, research, and service. Research is a key component in a large number of the more than 60 face-to-face and online graduate programs offered at the university.
