VALDOSTA – Â鶹ÊÓƵ is the recipient of a 2015 recycling bin grant from Keep America Beautiful and the Coca-Cola Foundation.

More than 3,600 recycling bins are being distributed to 37 colleges and universities as part of the Coca-Cola/Keep America Beautiful (KBA) Recycling Bin Grant Program. Â鶹ÊÓƵ received 30 bins.

James Muzzey, assistant director for Campus Services, said the bins will be placed in the athletic areas on campus and used for athletic and outdoor events, including Blazer tailgates and events being held on the front lawn and in the Palm’s Quad.

According to Keep America Beautiful, nearly 45,000 recycling bins — including the 2015 grants — have been placed in the program nationwide since its inception in 2007.

Grant recipients were selected by Keep America Beautiful based on their potential to collect the most cans and bottles as well as other considerations such as the extent of their need, recycling experience, and their ability to sustain the program in the future.
