Career Opportunities to Host Shadowing Experience, Employers Wanted

VALDOSTA — Career Opportunities at Â鶹ÊÓƵ will sponsor Groundhog Shadow Day on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015.  The event is designed to provide students the opportunity to shadow local professionals and help them gain real-world experience in how a job is performed.

Employers who wish to participate should visit and sign up by 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015.

According to Career Opportunities, “Professional shadowing experience is vital for students, especially those first-year students discerning their career paths. The Groundhog Shadow Day event will serve to open the window of opportunity for all first-year students and those students in specialized fields of interest.”

Groundhog Shadow Day will kick off at 9 a.m. on Feb. 2, with a keynote address at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. The students will then travel to employment site locations to shadow local professionals. The students and the professionals will return to the university at 1 p.m. for a closing session and lunch.
