Â鶹ÊÓƵ Theatre and Dance Hosts Annual Cabaret Fundraiser Nov. 16

~2014-2015 is the Year of the Arts at Â鶹ÊÓƵ~

VALDOSTA — The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Theatre and Dance Area’s Rho Epsilon Cast of Alpha Psi Omega and Golden Circle Scholarship and Support Fund Board of Directors will present the 16th annual cabaret fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, in the University Center Magnolia Room. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by the performance at 7 p.m.

Themed “Nice Work …,” the cabaret fundraiser will celebrate the things that require a little hard work but make life worth living — jobs and relationships. Some of the university’s most talented theatre and dance students will perform song selections from such popular shows as “Nice Work If You Can Get It” and “9 to 5: The Musical” while attendees enjoy a buffet meal prepared by Covington’s Catering.

Proceeds will benefit the Golden Circle Scholarship and Support Fund and will help the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Theatre and Dance Area to attract top quality students to the program by offering scholarship support.

Tickets are $45 per person, or $40 per person for any 2014-2015 Â鶹ÊÓƵ Theatre and Dance season members. Checks should be made payable to “Â鶹ÊÓƵ Foundation,” with “Golden Circle Cabaret” written on the memo line.

Duke Guthrie, professor of theatre, hopes all Â鶹ÊÓƵ Theatre and Dance fans will attend the 16th annual cabaret fundraiser, spend the evening enjoying what promises to be a delicious meal and memorable musical theatre entertainment, and leave with “the satisfaction of knowing that you helped a student realize his or her dream.”

Advance reservations are required and can be made by sending an email to Patricia Vigergstol, chairwoman of the Golden Circle Scholarship and Support Fund Board of Directors, at pavigerstol@gmail.com. The reservation deadline is noon on Monday, Nov. 10.
