Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ active shooter drill in progress drill on Friday, May 23

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s active shooter drill is now in progress and includes Student Union and West Hall areas. THIS IS A DRILL.  Follow the instructions of police and emergency personnel. More information:

The DRILL is being coordinated by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s office of Environmental and Occupational Safety and Lowndes County Emergency Management.  The drill will include law enforcement personnel from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Police, Valdosta City Police, and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.

A second notification will be sent on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s Campus Alert issuing an “all clear” when the drill is completed.

VALDOSTA--Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will conduct an on-campus “active shooter” drill on Friday, May 23. The exercise is being coordinated by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s office of Environmental and Occupational Safety and Lowndes County Emergency Management.  The drill will include law enforcement personnel from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Police, Valdosta City Police, and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
  
A notification when the drill begins will be sent to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ faculty, staff, and students via the Campus Alert System. At the conclusion of the drill, a second notification issuing an “all clear” will also be sent to faculty, staff and students via the Campus Alert System.  In addition, notification about the drill will be placed on the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ website (www.valdosta.edu) and distributed on the university’s primary social media accounts.
  
The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Campus Alert System uses telephone numbers (voice and SMS/text) that have been entered in the Banner (students) and ADP (faculty and staff) systems.
