ΒιΆΉΚΣơ’s β€œTake Heart” Luncheon scheduled for Feb. 26

VALDOSTA – ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅’s Campus Wellness will host the “Take Heart” luncheon to promote a more heart healthy lifestyle from 11:45 until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 in Student Union Ballrooms B and C.

Prior to the luncheon, Campus Wellness will also hold a mini health fair in the Student Union on the third floor. It will include free health information and screenings including glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI).

Take Heart will include a heart healthy lunch and a five-person panel who will share personal experiences and expert advice on general heart health and nutritional information.

The panel will include survivors and experts on heart disease. The survivors include Gerilyn Pepin, Master of Social Work graduate student; Bob Lee, ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ retiree; and Mary Gooding, director of ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅’s Marketing and Community Relations. Experts include LaGary Carter, assistant dean of School Health Sciences and Holly L. Roundtree, RD, LD, Nutrition Services Director for South Health District.

Tickets are $5 a person and can be purchased at the door with cash or check made out to the ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ Foundation. RSVP by Friday Feb. 21 online at  or call (229) 259-5105.
