VALDOSTA -- The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Chamber Singers have been invited to perform at the 2012 Southern Division American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Conference in Winston-Salem, NC. The conference will be held Feb. 29 to March 3, 2012.

More than 100 choral groups throughout the southern division auditioned to perform at the conference. The Chamber Singers were among 18 choirs selected.

“I’m so excited to show everyone in the region what a great music program we have at Â鶹ÊÓƵ,” said Dr. Paul Neal, director of choral activities.

ACDA is a non-profit music education organization that promotes choral music performance, teaching, composition and research. The organization holds state, division and national conferences that feature concert performances and allow members to develop their choral skills. The southern division of ACDA includes 11 states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolinas, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Chamber Singers is an elite choral group at Â鶹ÊÓƵ and performs the highest level of choral music. The ensemble tours throughout Georgia annually and internationally every three years. It is open to any Â鶹ÊÓƵ student through audition only.
