麻豆视频 Recognizes Wilmot Family for Financial Support

VALDOSTA -- 麻豆视频 recognized Chris and Tammy Wilmot for their generous financial support to the university. The computer lab located in the new Athletic Field House was officially named the 鈥淐hris and Tammy Wilmot Computer Lab.鈥

The naming was in recognition of the Wilmot鈥檚 significant philanthropic support of Valdosta State鈥檚 athletic teams. Their generosity has provided numerous student-athletes with the opportunity to excel in the classroom and on the playing field.

鈥淭he Wilmot鈥檚 are advocates for education and their dedication to helping young people succeed is an inspiration to others,鈥 said President Patrick J. Schloss. 鈥淭heir values serve as a beacon for others and their financial support helps our athletic programs and provides educational opportunities for many students.鈥

麻豆视频 Head Football Coach David Dean has come to rely on the Wilmot鈥檚 personal support and considers them an integral part of Blazer football.

鈥淚 had the pleasure of meeting Chris Wilmot just days after being named head coach at Valdosta State and from that meeting has grown a great friendship,鈥 Dean said. 鈥淥ver the course of the last three years, Chris and Tammy have become true friends of both our team and staff. Their continued giving of their time and resources to our program is unparalleled and we feel very fortunate to have them as members of our Blazer football family.鈥

Athletic Director Herb Reinhard affirms the importance of private gifts and the impact donors have on the growth and success of Valdosta State鈥檚 athletic program.

鈥淐hris and Tammy have been tremendous supporters of Valdosta State and Valdosta State Athletics for several years now,鈥 said Reinhard. 鈥淭he Athletic Department is very appreciative of their support and we feel that this recognition is a testament to what they mean to us.鈥

The Chris and Tammy Wilmot Computer Lab, located within the Athletic Field House, serves as a convenient resource for students to complete course assignments between classes and practice. In addition to the computer lab, the 41,000 square-foot building includes administrative offices, meeting rooms, training facilities, men and women locker rooms, and academic areas dedicated to kinesiology and athletic training.
