Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Cadet Receives National Scholarship

VALDOSTA - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ ROTC cadet Ryan Chapman recently won the Joan Bowden Memorial Scholarship from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association

Chapman, a sophomore majoring in physics, was one of two Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ nominees and 288 nominees from detachments across the country to compete nationally for the scholarship, which is awarded based on grade point average, physical fitness and leadership skills. Possessing a high GPA and qualities like high moral character, outstanding leadership capabilities and top-notch physical fitness, Chapman will receive this one-time $3,000 scholarship to assist him with the cost of his studies.

The mission of Air Force ROTC is to develop future leaders for tomorrow's Air Force. The program is open to all accredited majors and scholarships are available. Program graduates receive knowledge, leadership skills and quality education before entering the Air Force as an officer.
