Stanleys' Centennial gift to Â鶹ÊÓƵ creates the Stanley Beta GammaSigma Endowment

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Harley Langdale Jr, College of Business Administration has announced that Drs. Kenneth L. and Barbara K. Stanley have made provisions to create the Stanley Beta Gamma Sigma endowment. Dr. Kenneth Stanley, former dean and currently a professor of Finance in Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Langdale College, along with his wife Dr. Barbara Stanley, interim head and assistant professor in the Department of Middle Grades and Secondary Education in Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Dewar College of Education, are thrilled to be able to give a gift that will continue to have a significant impact on students for years to come. The Stanleys hope that during Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Centennial Years Celebration that their gift will serve as an example for others.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society serving business programs that are accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Dr. Ken Stanley was initiated into Beta Gamma Sigma as an MBA student at Emory University. He has been on the honor society’s Board of Governors since 2004. In addition, he has been active in Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter for the last two years.

“Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest academic achievement that business students can obtain,” said Dr. Ken Stanley. “We are excited about the opportunity to encourage, support, sustain and recognize academic excellence at the Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration and Â鶹ÊÓƵ."

Income from this endowment will be used to fund Beta Gamma Sigma student initiation fees. In addition, it is anticipated that continuing financial support will be provided for the operations of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter to include recognizing students, funding available scholarships and supporting a variety of other programs.
