Information and documents pertinent to advising have been moved to Academic Advising page.
SOLIS
SOLIS is the official student chapter of the American Library Association (ALA) for students enrolled in the Master of Library and Information Science Program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Its advisory board acts as the voice for MLIS students and strives to support activities that help them connect with each other.
All MLIS students are members of SOLIS, and through SOLIS activities you can find other students who share your career interests, live near you, need some peer advice, or who want to form a "meet up" group.
Graduate Assistantships
The MLIS Program is authorized one graduate assistantship. The assistantship is awarded on a semester by semester basis and may be renewed depending upon the availability of funds. A Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) performs duties as assigned by the department for 20 hours per week. The assistantships carry a modest stipend and a tuition waiver. For more information and the applications process, see the page for the Graduate School.
Employment
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ MLIS Program will assist its graduates to find employment or further professional education. We periodically receive employment notices from libraries. We will forward these to you as we receive them.
